How to Order Wholesale Flowers
Our floral catalogue is hosted by the e-commerce platform Rooted Farmers. To shop, professional florists must first make a free wholesale buyer account on the Rooted Farmers website. Once you upload your resale certificate (NYS Form ST-120), a team member from Rooted Farmers will check your proof of sales tax authority and approve your application, and you’ll then be able to view our inventory for the upcoming week.

Three ways to plan ahead
1
Standing Orders
A pre-arranged, weekly order of flowers for a set number of stems, budget and time period. Can be for a single crop during it's growing season, or mix of crops throughout the season.
Examples:
-
60 double tulips each week throughout the tulip season
-
$140 of seasonal fillers from May - September
-
$200 of mixed crops in a cohesive palette for 6 weeks; no white
2
Wholesale Pre-orders
A one-time prearranged order based on budget, color palette and end use.
Example:
You have an August wedding for all white with a pop of blue. The budget for local flowers is $500. Flowers will be used for: bouquets, table arrangements and some installations, so you'll need some stems that can handle being out of water. We will put together an order for you before ordering opens for everyone that can be viewed and edited before finalized.
3
DIY Event Flowers
Bulk bucket(s) of cohesive, seasonal flowers for events like: weddings, baby showers, birthday parties, or bouquet bars. For retail customers. *You do not need a Rooted Account *
Example: You're hosting a bridal shower in June and want to have a bouquet bar as an activity. The brides favorite color is purple, and there will be 20 people attending. We will help estimate the number of flowers you need, and provide the materials to take home their bouquet safely.
How it works: our operating schedule
Inventory goes live on Wednesdays at 7am. Buyers can preorder any time from Wednesday through Sunday and place as many orders as they’d like. Growers may add new items throughout the rest of the week as new items bloom, so be sure to check for updates through the week.
The ordering window closes automatically on Sunday evening.
Deliveries are available within 15 miles of our hub on Wednesdays from 9:00am-1:00pm for a flat $25 fee. Click here for a complete list of towns and zip codes we deliver to.
Pickup orders may come to the hub on Wednesdays from 9:00-11:00am or 3:00pm-5:00pm, or by pre-arranged appointment.
-
Be sure to bring your own buckets to transfer flowers into. You may also purchase buckets from the hub.
Emergency Orders: Our farmers proudly harvest specifically to order, and our standard ordering window is aligned to accommodate this. We understand that there are times when buyers may need products at the last minute. In general, the order minimum is $250 and all sales will be subject to a 20% emergency fee.
Invoicing and Payment
Once you are connected with the Flower Collective on Rooted Farmers, payment and processing is easy!
Buyers who prefer to pay with cash or check must pay on arrival. Buyers who provide an authorized credit card number when placing their order on Rooted Farmers will be charged on Thursdays.
Tips for using Rooted Farmers
Take your time while you shop: As you shop, your cart is reserved for one hour so you can purchase slowly and thoughtfully.
Ordering window: Our ordering window opens 1 week before distribution. This is designed to accommodate florists' need to plan ahead as well as our farmers' constraints related to working with nature. Most products are listed when our weekly email is sent on Wednesday mornings, but sometimes new products are added later. Be sure to check back each day for new items. You're welcome to place as many orders as you want, and we'll charge just one delivery fee.
Setting the correct fulfillment date: Most often, when folks cannot see any product listed, it's because they haven't selected the correct fulfillment date. This can be found at the top right corner. If you select "next two weeks" or custom select the following Wednesday, you will be able to see our inventory.
Sorting the catalogue: Rooted Farmers offers buyers different ways to sort our inventory. Top florist favorites include "stock high to low", "price low to high", and by specific colors. Have a favorite item? Use the search bar to see if it's in season that week.
