Code of Conduct

The Flower Collective of Central New York LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) exists to support local farms through a professional, respectful, and trustworthy wholesale marketplace.  We aim to disrupt the traditional supply chain by connecting flower farmers directly to local florists, design professionals, and flower lovers.  It is our mission to not only provide outstanding products, but also to foster a deep sense of community, connection, and support amongst our members.

This Code of Conduct reflects our commitment to maintaining a space where growers and buyers alike can participate fully and professionally, without fear of harassment, exclusion, or retaliation.

1. Commitment to a Safe and Professional Marketplace

We are committed to maintaining a marketplace where all growers, buyers, staff, and administrators are treated with dignity and respect.

All participants in our marketplace are expected to:

  • Engage respectfully with other growers, buyers, and administrators at all times.

  • Communicate professionally, even during disagreement or periods of stress.

  • Honor the expertise, labor, and experiences of others.

  • Accept feedback from marketplace administrators in good faith.

2. Prohibited Conduct

The following behaviors are not permitted and may result in loss of good standing:

  • Harassment, intimidation, or dismissive behavior towards others.

  • Discriminatory language or actions, including those framed as jokes, opinions, or personal beliefs.

  • Repeated boundary-pushing after concerns have been raised.

  • Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern or reports misconduct.

  • Conduct that creates an unsafe or hostile environment, regardless of intent.

3. Impact Over Intent

When evaluating concerns or violations, we will prioritize the impact of behavior over the stated intent of the individual involved.  Lack of malicious intent does not negate harm caused or exempt a participant from accountability.

4. Reporting and Support

Growers and buyers may report concerns related to conduct, safety, or boundary violations to administrators via email [hello@cnyflowers.com].

5. Enforcement of Boundaries

Maintaining good standing requires ongoing compliance with this Code of Conduct and other Governing Documents.  Payment of annual dues does not guarantee continued participation if conduct standards are violated.  Consequences may include:

  • Collaborative conversation with an administrator to resolve the violation.

  • A written plan of corrective action outlining the agreed-upon expectations and outcomes.

  • Temporary suspension.

  • Termination of marketplace access without refund, depending on severity of the violation.

6. Right to Protect the Marketplace

We reserve the right to take action to protect the safety, integrity, and operations of the marketplace and all participants.  This includes removing access when behavior undermines trust, safety, or professional collaboration.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Any changes will be posted on this page with the updated date.
